Sadly I lost my mum to pancreatic cancer in May this year. She battled on longer than we could ever have hoped – more than 18 months from the initial diagnosis –and we were able to nurse her through her last days at home. Support from the Macmillan nurses and local district nursing team in her home town of Washington, Tyne and Wear, made that possible and even bearable. So, we thought a nice way to remember mum and raise a bit of money for a very good cause would be to join in on the World’s Biggest Coffee morning on Friday 26 September.

We like an excuse to invite in our neighbours at Old Farm and our suppliers – our customers are nationwide, the nearest being 20 miles away in Gosport, so it’s not really practical for them unfortunately. We usually have a pre-Christmas mince pie do each year, so we thought let’s do this too. Our offices at Old Farm, Chalton, will be open from 10.00 ‘til 12.00 on the day.

We’ll supply the tea, coffee and cake and hope our friends will bring the cash. 50p will get you a cuppa or a cake of your choice, but of course, we’ll accept higher amounts. Donated cakes from our friends and visitors are also welcome. Doggy bags will be available so there’ll be no cakes wasted.
